One of our neighbours walking his dog noticed that our local gatso scamera has had the door glued up
(possibly 'no more nails' or a resin glue of some sort)

What a shame....

Can photographic evidence be removed any other way?

A friend of mine came up with the idea of drilling a small hole in the casing and then using expanding foam injected through the hole should make a lovely mess.

Been done. The forward facing ones have a convenient gap in the casing next to the locks. Apparently.

Chemically, however, that stuff is fairly innocuous: you can clean it off and everything works again. Foam oven cleaner, however, is corrosive and would knacker the electronics big time. It's also conductive, so might pose some danger to the sprayer if they weren't holding the can with rubber gloves.

Nice n' seasonal, that one

Alternatively, if you're going to use glue, smear it on the lens.

Excellent, we used to mix this up in the chemistry labs at school. A very exothermic reaction, it’ll burn through almost anything. I think the railways use/did use this mixture for welding track together in situ.

Ahh thermite!

Another use for this stuff is to propel the Shuttle into space...

The Thermite Reaction They still do use it (on the rare occasions any maintenance gets done )
Nasty feeling that suggesting that might fall under the category of promoting terrorism

The grey rectangular panel at the front is plastic so it lets the radar through, I'm sure that'd be easier to drill than the metalwork. It'll have a much lower melting point too....

Sounds like you are all in support of causing criminal damage then.
Why not break into some cars or torch them whilst your at it.

Yeah ok.

Where are the scamera vans right now? (hypothetically of course)

**DISCLAIMER** I do not support or condone these acts of violence in any way whatsoever. I do however find them highly amusing and will laugh when I see fit. This is NOT an admission of guilt or support of these acts however much I might be rolling on the floor with tears in my eyes of joy

I just think that talking about damaging the cameras doesn't go far to support most intelligent peoples views. Some people are willing to do a petition which is all fair and well. and other want to drill into them and put filler in them. These are people that have obviously reached the age of 17+ to be driving.
