I thought it was brilliant. Martin Brundle has a special gift to do that. His grid walks are what makes the F1 more interesting.
The grid walk at the US Grand Prix when he interviewed Bernie Ecclestone about whether the teams were going to start the race has to be up there. You could see that Ecclestone was seething about a situation that had developed and Martin Brundle kept asking the awkward questions about what was happening. The whole worlds media were there with their microphones recording Martin Brundle's interview with the 'Ring Meister' and Ecclestone was saying "I've got them to the grid", when asked whether the teams would start the race.

I watched it and thought he was good on the airfield assigment (Martin gets to show off in his helicopter) but was clearly out of his comfort zone in the studio.
