I was a skilled transport manager with a couple of people reporting to me and the bin men within the council earned more money for less hours!!

There wasn't 800 skilled applicants for the bin men jobs. There were 800 applicants with skilled men amongst them. Really depressing to see good hard working people having to go through the mill.

What's wrong with being a bin man - if it paid enough for me to play golf in the afternoons I'd be happy.

Besides, you only have to work once a fortnight don't you?
