What, in your carefully considered opinion, is the least impressive world championship event- the one where you just cant see the point of it?

Im sure i will get some flack, but for me its either the hammer-which is just such a pointless exercise that i fail to see why someone would dedicate time to it, or even the worlds strongest man- i am the best on earth at lifting huge rocks and putting them on barrels-not interested, got a forklift.

If you break them down and analyse them all sports are fairly pointless.

The above statement immediately gives me the impression that you are indeed an extremely camp individual..

Baseball World Series. An alleged world competition for a game invented by Englishmen as a gentler alternative to Cricket for ladies to play on a Sunday afternoon and first mentioned in 'Northanger Abbey' by Austen. Even sadder when you think only Americans really play it, which I suppose does at least guarantee an American victor. Presumably if some 'furriner' won it, they'd all stop watching it.

Yes, it does rather imply he prefers pro-celebrity flower arranging. . . . . .

But it's true. Football is just boring nonsense.

teacher Called the world series as it was sponsored by "the world" newspaper and thus is not a world championship. Still nonsense though

It's not the football bit, it's the "*waaaay*" bit..

It gives the sentence a 'hmm-hmm, girlfriend" kind of feel..

I think by definition that all 'sport' is useless - kicking a ball into a net, driving cars round and round etc. It's really just time filling as we no longer have to spend all day hunting and gathering.

Darts has to be pretty unimpressive though (apart from the mental arithmetic).
