...no sniggering at the back.

What are the safety requirements for UK track days? Will my old karting lid be acceptable?

Thanks. Good to know for future reference. Sadly I was supposed to be given a slot on this Thursday through work, but it's been moved to next week and I can't make it now. Doh. irked

As said above pretty much any helmet will do as long as it fastens properly and doesn't look like it's going to fall apart.

I control the pitlane for BaT on most weekend events and have turned away people who have had helmets that have been held together with gaffer/tank tape or generally look like they have seen better days.
Most decent TDO's will have helmet hire. Those I turn away always have the option of hiring a half decent helmet for the day.

At the end of the day it's your head and you only have one - so always use helmet you can afford.

If you are unsure if its ok, just ask the organisers to check it for you. Karting one should be no problem. Most TDO's will have helmets to hire anyway
