Forex trading and automated robots.

Does anyone do forex trading and how is the market at the moment?

I have some spare time and thought about looking into getting into the market and trying and making some money, does anyone know of any free (read not real money) that i can practice on first?

Also I have seen automated Forex robots that seem to be on the market (Fapturbo, etc) that some people seem to rave about and some people dont.... has anyone tried one and can give me some definitive feed back on them.

I would put this in the business section but its quiet in there today, so want to start it in P&P first before moving it across.

How is the market? Less volatile than last Autumn. Better for dipping your toe in.

You want to write code? www.alpari.co.uk. Metatrader 4 is the software, MQL is the language. Not difficult if you can program already.

I take it you've traded before? I wouldn't trust a black box/code that I haven't written myself. You need to know when you're just hitting drawdowns compared to a complete failure of a system and without knowing what each line of the code does, I wouldn't trust it.

I specialise in Equity trading systems using C#, Java and SQL/Sybase.... So i may just give this a blast and see what i can knock up.
