Anyone using an Orange sim in a 3g iPhone?
Discussion
"Jailbreak" is when you hack the software to enable you to run non-Apple apps and customisation. It can be done on any version of the iPhone/iPhone 3G
"Unlock" is when you hack the actual SIM lock and use a simcard from another provider instead of O2. I wasn't aware this was possible on the iPhone 3G although I think it is on the iPhone.

ok ok guys dont want a bun fight - unlocked, jailbroken, hacked whatever..
i have a iphone 3g (of origin) that has an Orange sim card in it, but looks like it's only using gprs for data.
before i phone Orange and look silly, i'm interested to hear from other users of iphone 3g's that have orange sim cards in if they get the 3g logo in the top left when signed onto the service.
Thanks in advance,
Chris

Have you set the APN etc under Settings-General-Network-Cellular Data? Not sure if this affects GPRS or 3G though

comparing with a friends on tmobile the other day, mine only displays orange, his displayed tmobile then a little 3g logo - hence why i'm interested if other users of Orange get the icon or not - i'm not convinced Orange gave me the correct data service as they gave me the apn for wap first off.
