Hi one of the kitcar magazines used to run an advert for a company that sold plans for a small kit land rover suitable for children, it was a wooden car and I think ran off wheelchair motors.

Does anyone know what im talking about?

I built one last year, excellent project. The plans are really easy to follow and you can make as much of the kit as you like.

There is also now an online owners club:

and several videos on youtube.

It is an ideal first "quick" project, that I really enjoyed.

I've got to start one of these soon - though I'm in two mind whether to go for a landrover or go out on a limb and scale down a sand rail instead... I reckon a sand rail has more longevity as the controls could be moved as MiniDavi grows. got a 2.5kw motor going spare so should power him till he's fairly weighty hehe

Thanks, im only after building one to try and get my young daughter into cars. I need to show her the thrill is in driving rather than the colour biggrin

I can't recommend the 'Toylander' stuff highly enough and Richard is a really nice guy. I actually built a Real Life Toys Jeep prior to the 'Toylander' name.
Here it is with my son at the wheel.

This was actually a while ago since I built it when he was two and a half.
Here's another picture of a Toylander with him in.

J3 TOM is still going strong in it's 18th year and is now in the temporary hands of second cousins. It's on mayber it's 3rd battery, but otherwise it's original. smile
