Blue Tooth Prep in E46 3 series

Having mares trying to get blue tooth to activate in my 330 E46. I have three phones I want to pair up to the car's system. My works phone, my wifes phone and my personal phone. Manual states that up to 4 phones can be paired so far so good.

Manage to pair works phone (BlackBerry Bold), transferred phone directory over, tested it out couple of times, works perfectly. However cannot now get the system to accept the other two phones. Every time I try to pair one of the phones I just get a moronic electronic female voice from the car's speakers saying "sorry" about 4 times and then "cancel".

Anyone have any experience of this and any advice, perhaps I am naively doing something wrong?

I've only ever paired one type of phone to mine (6500 Classic, work phone) and its been simple. I tried to connect my PaYG personal phone and couldnt do it. I think it was too old, even though it had BT (6320i I think)

Obvious question but have you checked that they're compatible?
