Can anybody recommend a company who do unsecured personal loans for somebody with a poor credit rating? Not much is required, just £2000 over 2 years.

Oh and please dont start moaning about how people shouldnt be getting into debt when they cant afford it etc. Its not for me.

THanks

Matt.

Try Welcome finance. No idea what their interest rates are, but a friend had a loan form them in the past.

I admire your optimism, but it’s never gonna happen.

I've had leaflets through the door offering unsecured loans for any purpose at a rate that worked out to about 300% APR. To make things easy for me they were going to come to my house every week to collect the repayments. I was *so* tempted to take the offer up but decided not to in the end.

I believe this firm is called Knuckles Finance and Protection Services PLC. I believe, they only want your family allowance voucher book as security and they will accompany you to the Post Office to collect it on pay day. I think their former name was Northern Rock Hard PLC.

I'd try Selmahoos. Although he might forget to take payment - then ask for it in 18 months time. Don't worry though, you won't have to pay (from a legal standpoint).

it's not just about rates.. it's about ethics, about ignoring the FSA, ignoring credit reports, ignoring outgoings and making up affordability - then loading it with addons and getting a signature. Then breaking every rule in the book just to get money owed back (to hit your "other" targets).

Absolutely hateful company.

edited to add; IMHO, obviously.

I've often (genuinely) wondered why people find it so necessary to take out such high interest rate loans for such relatively small amount. Are you able to tell us about your friend situation?

Isn't their APR something like 60%?
