There's a race and rare car auction tomorrow just down the road from me and my brother is looking at purchasing a Capri RS3100 from it, but this stole the show and won his heart.

Its a GT3 race car, ive left the sales brochure in my wifes car so ill post the full spec and details when she gets home. But from memory its won 2 series in the past 3 years, its spec list is huge. Brakes bigger than anything that was on sale there, that includes le mans and F1 cars. It has a sequential gearbox, slick tyres atleast a foot wide on the rear, side exit exhausts and carbon fibre everywhere you could imagine. Apperently it cost £500k to buld but the estimate is £90k. Although not road legal it will make someone a good track day car.

The car my brother is going to bid on is £130k estimate and goes in before the Viper so if he is outbid I think he might just have a pop at it. Especially with me getting a Viper smile

Here's a pic of it racing.

seen it raced lots of times, its been crash/repaired several times just like an race car, though for £130K you can buy a brand new one! though perhaps not with all the upgrades

one of our members has one for a track car, it's an amazing peice of kit and quite stunning, absolutely nothing similar to our road cars

another team Brookspeed won last years Brit GT with their viper which was a couple of seasons old, it was up for sale i recall for £90k not sure without checking if it ever sold, they were hoping to get a new viper for the 09 season

if your really interested in buying it just contact the team direct, though its a huge step into trackdays and expense if you havent done trackdays previously

Those cars don't cost anywhere near £500k to build and the black one shouldn't have any upgrades fitted. They all run to GT3 spec so it should be as it left Oreca. There isn't much carbon on them either, only the splitter, diffuser and wing, the rest is fibre glass/grp

They shouldnt have a sequential box either should they? This one had one, must of been modified after it retired. I couldnt see £500k in it, maybe if that included a comprehensive spares package.

The sequential was homologated in 2008 so that's completely legal. They cost €205,000 new from Oreca last time I checked, so even a complete car in spares wouldn't make it to 500k

Sorry to say, no glass/grp, all body panels are carbon/kevlar and homeycomb contruction, unless they are using some of mine smile

I thought most of the panels were fibre glass but I may well be mistaken
