M seating position?
Discussion
I have just re-fitted the seats to my M and have made a couple of observations...
Does this sound "normal"?
The seat when fitted points slightly to the offside
The edge of the seat nearest the door is slightly lower than the edge near the tunnel
And the steering wheel is left of the centrline of the seat...
Its an awful seating position... is this a normal classic TVR quirk?

Ummmmm, I think we can call that one "abby normal" the height adjustment is via mahogany slats that fit under the metal tracks. tegwin said:

Yeah, like shooting Heroin, its awful at first, then you get use to it and, eventually, you even grow to like it. B.
LOL... Thats highly amusing...
Might have to see what can be done to "straigten" things out a little bit...
The other oddity is the location of the clutch pedal, to the right of the steering column...
Quality!
Were the standard TVR seats made for specific left/right fitment or was there just one seat to go on either side?

They were sided with a chrome rake adjustment lever on the door side. I once heard that the frames were modified (by TVR) TR6 units. Mine had a backrest release catch/pull half way up the door side of the backrest. If I recall, when I weighed mine (with tracks) they were around 32Lb each. They were replaced with Corbeau clubman seats soon thereafter.
B.
Hmm... That suggests that my seats are not standard TVR then....
They only weigh about 8.5lbs each and dont have adjustable rake on them...
I think one of the seats still has the sliders on, I can check which side it came from by looking at the handle. Thanks!
I am replacing the sliders with metro seat runners... Slightly thinner, but pretty much a direct swap.....the old ones had rusted and fallen to bits!
