VXR8 Looking for more power
Discussion
Hi Guys and gals, ive got used to the VXR8 now and looking for more BHP and torque would like something near 500 RWHP on an LS2 with manual box, car is currently standard apart from k&N filter, looked at various aussie sites who seem to be achieving well with custom crank grinds etc. Penny for everyones thoughts as im a tight git
500rwhp hmm.
Stock is about 320rwhp, so thats a good step up.
On stock engine you will sadly need to go forced induction, or as you say a pretty stout stroker engine.
Either way a consistent 500rwhp will cost a tad. No entry level bolt on kits.
Maybe TT or SC with a mild cam would be good.
I know Mark does the new TVS1900 blowers if you like low end torque, or for more efficiency the twin turbo.
The older HH122 stuff still works ok, but is pretty much older technology now.
Id throw a cam in to get the best out of either. Nothing too mental mind.
Oh I hope you dont have an auto, otherwise you can forget most/all mods for the time being.

Fit a 122 SC and your very close to 500rwhp. Exhaust, (catback) would be good too. You will probably need a clutch to go with it. All in 2 days! Job done

Edited to add, if you can wait, buy paramoreg's setup up there ^^^^^^. Which is the same thing.

I agree although I have an "older technology" MP122 and it has loads of puff. I had the same blower on my standard engine and the car felt average at 520hp (I ride quick bikes). It now has heads, cam, headers, and a 101mm TB and it is completely different; forget pub bragging, it is terrifying with 9psi on anything other than a dry road. I know TT has its place but all I can say is try before you buy. I'm getting 12psi next week and will post the true horror when I have the results.
Also, consider a Centri-blower like the Vortec.

or if you were interested in the SC route and were willing to wait until mid-year you could buy my std LS2/HH122 SC as complete swap (if I go ahead with my LS3 project), which would give you that or more!

I would be very interested in talking - been looking for SC for a while - and mid-year might be good too...
