Petition to close the Ring

Personally I'm getting pretty fed up of the fuss and hassle which surrounds the ring (see other current threads on here). We all know the issues and I can't be bothered to go in to them here.
I'll probably get flamed for suggesting this, but I'd rather just see TF stopped altogether. That way all the issues disappear.
Dates which would otherwise have been fully occupied by TF (which aren't that many now anyway) would just end up being available for more regular privately run track days instead, probably at a lower price than is possible at the moment. Then we can all enjoy the place properly without all the cr@p that currently goes with it.

And you're qualified to say that how exactly? How often do you visit each year to lap the ring during TF and for how long? How would you compensate the local area by reducing the weekend visitors and spectators from say 5000 per weekend during TF to 150 per weekend during a private trackday? Do you eat lentils and hug trees?
Why stop TF? Everyone that goes should know the rules and accepts the risks involved. Freedom of choice and the opportunity for EVERYONE who wants to experience the NS isn't a bad thing.

This is surely a joke?
The only problem I found with the 'Ring was the annoyance of having to pull over for faster traffic or negotiate my way around the slower stuff. You still get people of different abilities in different cars at track days surely?
Conversely, the best thing was the atmosphere. I don't know if that'd be the same on a conventional track day.

OK - I've got nothing to do with SELOC or Mary Whitehouse and I know plenty of people (including several on here) depend on the ring for their living. Sorry for the offence I've obviously caused.
Bear with me though:
1. Stop TF as we know it. At this point the ring ceases to be a public road.
2. Instead of TF, ngmbh run the ring as a closed circuit during what used to be TF sessions.
3. These closed days could be run just as often as TF and could be run & priced by the morning, afternoon or whole day. JK holders could take out season tickets just like they do now and arrive & drive as they like. Maybe one-day punters could buy a ticket for an hour if that's what they want.
4. As part of the admission conditions, drivers have to waive their rights against third parties (i.e. when you buy your day ticket or JK). Police and insurance involvement would cease.
5. Since it's now a closed circuit, people can lap freely without having to queue at the barriers at busy times.
It's not very complicated, and I can't see a downside. It must have been suggested before many times. It's just the same way that all other circuits operate, but better. JK holders can lap freely. Occasional punters can buy a cheap ticket and drive without fear of losing their house if a bike gets dropped because of a coolant leak.
In hindsight, I put the wrong title on the thread. It's not about closing the ring, just wanting it to change the way it works.

TFs are fantastic, there's no doubt about it. Nothing like them for atmosphere and experience. I take the OP's points, though. I'd certainly like to see a few limitations on what's allowed on and when. Specifically, stop the coaches - that's just crazy dangerous - and give the bikes some specific track time for their own safety. However, I fear such things could be the thin end of the wedge and it would lead to it becoming a regular trackday experience which would really detract from the atmosphere. At the moment there is nothing on this earth like a TF and I'm prepared to take the risks in full knowledge of what a TF is like - and consequently how you should approach it and what mental attitude you should take onto the track.
