This is my last thread on purchasing a new watch because hopefully very soon (when I build up the courage to part with my hard-earned cash!) I will place an order for a Tag Heuer Link Calibre S smile I tried one on yesterday afternoon and absolutely loved it - I'm off this afternoon to try it on again, just to be sure.

I'm looking to buy it from www.swisswatchesdirect.co.uk, as their prices are just below an AD's with discount, although after haggling with said AD's, they wouldn't budge over 10% frown

However when buying a new watch does anyone opt for the 3/5 year insurance in case of accidental damage or theft? Seems like the sensible thing to do ... Is it worth the £179/279 extra?

Cheers!

I guess it depends on what the limit for a single item is on your insurance, and how much extra you would need to pay to insure it? I was offered the same when I purchased my grand carrera, which covered for any damage, faults, theft, loss etc, think it worked out the same price as the 3 year service from Tag. Jewellers told me that they would contact me before the 3 years was up, and send the watch back to tag for a check up as part of the insurance (would include a service)so I would basically be getting the service for nothing, with the bonus of the theft and damage insurance
