why do '<' get changed to '&lt;' when you update t'profile?

In profile notes, if you type
<
then 'update'
although it looks like a '<' in the notes, it's being saved as
&lt;

Greater-than is the same.

Is this deliberate on your part?

Probably so you don't screw up the page formatting by injecting HTML.

Possibly, but I did have html in there working fine until just now when I did an edit.

To remove the DIVs go back into your profile and remove them and all the extra HTML formatting around your photo's and use the IMG image tags as below.

I think targets were coded out some time ago, still worked on old profiles until they were edited.

Can someone explain why the below happens everytime I update my profile or what I can do to sort it out as having to edit out the crap everytime is frustrating to say the least...

It was to remove the ability to put HTML code into posts or profiles that could be used for malicious purposes IIRC.

To remove do as my first post above.

We are working on a new parser at the moment which will solve this problem as the current one will only convert from PH code to HTML and not back again, causing this problem.
