VXR8 dealer

Hi again guys

This dealer (Archie Moss Of Loughborough www.archiemoss.co.uk/UsedList.aspx) has more VXR8s for sale than any other (9 cars) according to their website and Autotrader. Some of the photographs are for the same car which I find odd.

I wonder if they are advertising for someone else, if they have so many are they a big player. If they are a big player I've seen no reference to them on this forum.

Any of you guys have comments on this?

I went there a few months back as they had a few monaros in. only when i got there i was told oh we dont keep them here at a weekend and we only have 1 here in the week as they are all kept off site out of harms way. Silly me i said expecting to actually see one on a saturday afternoon, when you have six advertised on autotrader.
so phone before you go as i thought i didnt need to with the amount of cars they supposedly had on offer.
wasnt even interestad in taking my details.

One of the cars they have in stock is also the single VXR8 in stock at a garage in Coleraine. Hmmm.

Sounds a bit like Quickars then. I think they sell on behalf of etc too.
(ie) Take a commission on the sale. Not sure how it works for viewing though..

That's not my experience of Quickars. Colin was driving around in 'my' Monaro when I bought it from uder him. They also store some cars nearby in Slough area.

Hmm, I know an Evoke VXR8 was listed before he had it and another dealer owned it...

I know they are good to deal with by all accounts, just trying to fathom out the logistics.

I contacted them when I was looking to buy mine and they could not have been less interested if they tried
So I spent my money elsewhere

08 does not mean LS3 - mine certainly isnt! 58 possibly but even then you have to watch out for late registrations - isnt there an unregistered LS2 still for sale - or there was recently.

yes - definately check the details. There are some early unregistered 6.0 VXR8's floating about.

Archie Moss know nothing about Monaros or VXR8's, can't even service them.
They did have a red 07 reg Monaro VXR on the forecourt for a while.

I bought my ro from Archie Moss late last year, its been back to them a few times for repair and from the dealings with them i can say, once you got past the sevice reception, they did a good job. there customer care is the worst ive ever encountered. i think they sell vxr8s and ro on behalf of vx central stock because thats where mine came from. from what i have gone through i would not buy a car that has been stood in a pound for at least a couple of years. if you consider it, look at the hsv build plate find out the date it was put together. if i had known that my car was almost 4 years old on a 07 plate i would had not paid out the money i did. i have had the discs skimmed, steering rack, clutch slave nd master cylinder plus new pipework replaced and ecu problems. at te mo, its running good. i have booked in at the fish to do a bit of work on it, a good service, diff oil cx,brake fluid cx and fit the road pack. i am a new owner and i hope i have done the rite thing

Archie moss were an authorized monaro agent up until about 2006 when the Prince group sold off the franchise to another owner that didnt continue with what was probably not a good enough money spinner for them, they do still supply parts and service, though they never filled me with confidance so the last service was done by monkfish

Speaking of which there are a few £20k vxr8's about now. Quickars has a black M6 with 14k on the clock.
