Dilemma 360 or keep my 355
Discussion
Guys,
Please help after 7 months of motoring nirvana in my 355GTB, I have realised that my first choice of model the 360 is now in my price range and with low part exchange cost due to the falling 360 prices and strongs price of the 355 makes me wonder if I should go for it.
For around about 5k I can do the deed although the problem I found that after looking at a 360 recently I was a bit let down by the looks of the car when comparing the vehicle to mine up close, I know it sounds better it is more user friendly and you see that lovely engine under the glass and all the other good things about it, but in all honesty my head says yes and my heart says no.
Is there anybody here who has owned both vehicles? I would appreciate the pros and cons of both vehicles as I am completely confused now.
Look forward for any advice or just personal judgement.
Cheers.

What he said! lol
Have you driven both? If not I'd recommend you ask a friendly neighbourhood 360 owner to let you 'have a go' and then you'll see for yourself.
IMHO the 355 sounds better than almost anything on the road - including even the 360!
My gut, non-expert opinion is that the 355 may start to go up in value before long - they're the last of the REAL supercar looking supercars along with the Diablo, Testarossa and certain Esprits.
The new ones all hail a new / different era of car-experience.
I doubt 360's are going to go much further down in my (once again) very ley-opinion - BUT they have been sold in VERY high numbers so who knows what the supply side factor of supply and demand will do to their value's final resting place?! What there probably will be is further compression / squeezing of the values from their current starting price to the highest prices. Meaning the presently dearer cars will just become better and better value relative to the 'entry' price ones.
Ok... they're not quite the same ballpark but as close as I can think of - DB7's have continued to depreciate all the way down to the upper teens!
Am I giving it away that I'd have the 355 in your shoes?!

A dilemma (Greek äß-ëçììá "double proposition") is a problem offering at least two solutions or possibilities, of which none are practically acceptable; one in this position has been traditionally described as being impaled on the horns of a dilemma, neither horn being comfortable.
I'll rescue you from being impaled on the uncomfortable horns of dilemma.
I'll have the Fezza and you can have my Triumph - sorted

(great post BTW)

Have you driven both? If not, get out there and do it.
I have owned a 355 and loved it, but IMO the 360 is a far better car to drive Looks? Well, I tend to prefer the 355 spider but the 360 has grown on me. As for gearboxes, drive both, I still cant decide which I prefer! They both have advantages and disadvantages.
Depreciation - 355's are coming down in price and IMO will take a big hit this year. There is a flawless condition 355 spider up for sale at £29995. That says it all (last year it would have been over £40000. Admittedly they have not dropped as much s 360's but with the current economic climate who knows where either will end up this year!! I wouldnt buy either as an investment.

Very very tricky one !! I really can see both sides, I guess if you can try to take the money bit out of the equation I really cant see either going up in the next couple of years
I would say go for it if you can change for 5k sounds like a good deal having said that I can't see me ever parting with my 355 !!!
As for a mint 355 spider for 29995 do you mean the "repaired" one or is there another one comming up ? Are you going to buy it chris ?

If there are any bits that you could spend 5k on on the 355 spend it on that instead. Does it have a non-standard exhaust? If not then buy one, and any other little niggles, get them sorted. It'll pay for itself in the long run of a 355 I'm sure.
There always seems to be a lot more threads on here about people buying 355s than 360s.
I'd never trade mine for a 360, in my opinion, the 355 is far more desirable.

Depends on usage.
If I had a garage and wasnt going to do big miles, the 355 would win hands down. I don't think they're as nice to drive as the 360, but I think they've got a few more redeeming features (classic looks, relatively limited numbers).
Having said that, the 360 has some redeeming features too. It'll be more usable, a better drive (IMO), newer technology... but I think they will continue to drop in value due to numbers.
In short - if you're going to use it a lot, go for the 360, if its a Sunday fun car that you want to cherrish and keep for many years, 355.

Thanks everyone for there solid and friendly advice!! I will test drive the 360 next week hopefully and will then make my mind up! I still feel undecided as I do cherish the 355.
I will let you all know asap
Many thanks,
P.S. How is the simplest way to upload my pictures, sorry just a little bit thick with computers.
