I have been trying so hard to get pics or vids up for people to see but, for me, it's like learning French in a week. I think i'm close but not quite there yet banghead

Just an update on how the car goes and boy does it go!

There is a split and much recent debate on whether it should be kept AJP or if Chevy ls is the way to go. There are some brilliant AJP projects coming to fruition and a super powerful race Cerb emerging and that's exciting but I still feel I have the best option for every day practical performance.

The car has been out amongst traffic on some good and some bad days recently and it has been so reassuring and stress free. Even though it's not hot summer weather the old engine used to get worringly hot in ques, now it doesn't. The performance is greater than before and it doesn't have to be treated with kid gloves.

The big torque of acceleration is just fantastic to use and it picks up speed so rapidly. It trickles along at low speed easily and non TVR people who have been in the car before and after have said it's an improvement. The main difference I feel is the usability of it all. The AJP would fly if I drove it on the road as if it were on a track, holding high revs and lots of changing down but road driving is not like that is it. Now it will fly whenever I have I mind to do so without scaring traffic infront by revving high before possible overtaking opportunities.

I guess you can tell that I'm a happy man and I have to thank the Topcats team for a great job. Credit where credit's due. Going back to the pictures/vids issue, I'll keep trying but I think I need help because I'm too ignorant. But believe me when I say the car is a flyer biggrin

Sorry if this sounds a bit self indulgent but I've had a few ales drink

Have you got a photobucket account? If not go to www.photobucket.com and upload the pictures/videos there. The simpliest thing is then to stick up a link on here to your account.

I am very much looking forward to seeing the video of it. I'm pretty open minded as to what engine the Cerb should have, preferably I would have one of both!

Hi Ant, well done.

To get pics and vids on here go to Photo Bucket upload and then it will give you the code to cut 'n' paste here will either start [img] or [pic] - there's a preview button so you can see it it works.

Alternatively, email them to me and I’ll put them up for you.

Sounds fantastic,

The LS Engine is a great option for those who are worried about the AJP going POP........And lets not go into denial it DOES HAPPEN.
And also a great option for those with the SP6 who have the same concerns.

And the most important thing is not what others think but you the owner and driver. If you have spent your hard earned and have something you enjoy and are comfortable with then that to me is a RESULT..

Well done and happy motoring.

Ahh I didn't think we were discussing race cars,,,

Sounds like AJP70 will be using his as an everyday driving car and not thinking about racing Moslers at britcar.

I think you would agree that racing cars at britcar ads diferent stresses to an engine than driving in everyday road conditions.
Not everyone buys a cerb to ring it's neck on the track (but i'm sure it would be a wonderfull experience).

But hey I never said LS were indestructable .I dont know enough about the product to make such claims. I said this is a great alternative to AJP and SP6.

AJP and SP6 are fab engines I just think if you have concerns and want to stay behind the wheel of your cerb and enjoy the experience then the LS is an ALTERNATIVE.

Of course any engine can fail. However, if you were contemplating a 24 hour race which engine would you choose:

Opition a) Engine with 50-60 hour rebuild interval

Option b) Engine with 15 hour rebuild interval

Endurance racing is all about eliminating as much risk as possible from the package. The AJP engine is fabulous, but I would use it for sprint racing, not longer races...

Looks like a good install, as you have said.

Can I ask is this a new LS3 engine.

Ps Im pretty sure it is, and I think it sounds great, no rattles and suits the car In my opinion.

Just seem to be unable to paste them in as a direct link highlighted in blue.

I is an idiot because having just returned to the post I realize they are here above.

Yep! when I first got the car I googled his name and visited the ratpac site where I saw his pics when he had it. I see that Dean is a regular on here. Does James still have that 360 spider.

There is no satisfying some people Markh1, but I'll next try to get some kind of action (under load) vid clip. What I have done so far is quite a result for me.

Also, for those who love the Cerb exhaust for it's pops and bangs, this exhaust still does that (although not as extreme) and it will blow flames out the back on overfuelling.

Can't really help on what those guys are doing these days .. back "in the day" when they seemed to all have TVRs they were a bit of an in-crowd .. Dean, James, Phil Octave (?), Marc Payne (?) .. one or two others - time gets the better of my memory I'm afraid. We're probably going back 6-8years or so .. I used to see some of the cars for work. Nice to see his old cerb pop up again smile
