No good deed goes unpunished

Minor rant to get it off my chest.
I did someone a favour earlier today. Took twice the amount of time that I thought it would, I was just the courier and there was a problem with the item. At the end of the day, not my problem, but the problem wasn't the end of the world, and its not like they wasted their time. Only my time was wasted in the whole episode.
But what did I get when I returned. My friend raising their voice at me, and 'jokingly' said that I deserve bad treatment from the same company. Yeah great.
When I retreated with good humour I was then thanked for my time. Cheers.
If you are reading this, because I know you are a PHer, yeah, I am a bit pissed off.

Helping friends and relatives with their PC problems is the most thankless job, I have found...
Just don't do it, it always goes wrong, when it does go wrong it will be your fault, every time even the tiniest problem occurs they will be on the phone to you.Nowadays I no nothing about computers or cars if anyone asks, it is far far easier that way.

Ha AND WORK COLLEAGUES - currently got a PC on my desk.Last week, Woman (at work) calls my extension and says her PC does not work.
OK I thought I will have a look.
Dead : So I said must be power supply - go and get another one.
She did and brought it back to work, so I fitted it, and now it boots but HD is dead [must have caused the PSU to blow].
OK I thought, I had a spare hanging about so I installed it, put Win XP on it, sorted.
Took it back down to her and now she tells me all her family photos are on the dead drive.
So now, I'm currently trying to find an identical drive in order to swap the controller board.
WTF ?

Anyone else hoping the twunt of a PHer involved turns up in this thread?

I'm hoping someone will explain what happened.

You know, in words. English words. Formed into sentences. In a manner that makes sense.
He helped someone. They didn't say thank you.
Don't mention it.

My dad once sold a PC to a guy down the road. For the next couple of months this guy (who knew less than nothing about PCs and was as thick as two short planks) was ringing up EVERY NIGHT for tech support - "I can't find this file" "such and such isn't working".
My dad being the nice guy he is used to "pop over" for 4 hours at a time to sort out the mess this guy had made and try to explain to this half wit what he was doing wrong.

I had some neighbours knock on the door once to ask for help changing a wheel on their car as they were having problems. First time they ever spoke to me. Me being the nice bloke I am went to help, they went in the house and left me to it! And I burnt my dinner! Barely got a thanks and rarely spoke to me again.
Eventually they moved and a nice lady moved in who I've got friendly with (she's retired so not totty!) - I noticed she had a flat in December so knocked on the door and told her, ended up changing it for her - she got me a bottle of wine.
