Peanut allergy cure found :)
Discussion
Shame, i was always fond of peanuts.
Not Quite Safe for Work Linky
On a serious note, A nine-year-old is one of four children helped by doctors to beat a potentially deadly allergy to peanuts. They did it by slowly feeding them the very food that put their lives at risk.

Oh bloody hell, not acclimatisation therapy....
Has been rubbished in the past and to bring it up with something that is potentially life threatening is stupid. Sorry, but I had acclimatisation therapy for various intollerances and allergic reactions when I was a kid. Had 4 injections a week for 12 months for this and as a result I have no hair on my upper arms, have no fear of needles but absolutely NO difference.
It might last for a short period of time, but the whole acclimatisation therapy thing died out years ago and was proven to be a bit of a hoax. Hopefully this is something more than that, but I suspect not.

I thought the cure was found years ago err don't eat peanuts.
Very limiting, though, as you find peanuts in virtually everything - i.e. trace amounts as peantus were processed in the same factory. So it would appear the cure is to expose yourself to tiny quantities of peanuts building up to a few whole ones. That which doesn't kill you makes you stronger and all that.

You'd be amazed at what things contain peanuts and derivatives.. A bit like anything which you find you need to omit from a diet......But this is a good start, my understanding is that quite a few people die a year from this... Building up a gentle immunity seems logical and good news that it is working. I feel sorry for anyone who can't eat honey roasted peanuts...
