No idea what is was / is, but I have to say, its on the bottom of the ocean.....
I would expect to see some 'lost city' on some form of dropped ocean shelf of the like. That thing looks like its on the bottom of the ocean and has been made there. So unless Atlantis is filled with sea water breathing peoples, its got to be pretty unlikely.
Impressive though.

ISTR watching some discovery program where they've found lots of things which look rather like man made ruins off the coast of india. I believe their hypothesis was that they predated the ice age, then were flooded when the glaciers retreated.
Not sure how likely that is, but the ruins were quite strikingly unatural-looking.

I also saw it referred to on another programme - by Nick Baker or somesuch person.
