Hey there fellas......had a lovely weekend in Edinburgh, dampened by two events. First one was a parking ticket (I was 15 minutes late, and the guy was pasting it as I ran up to him). Second was a scamera on the A74(M) on a bridge.

Re the parking ticket, all the details are correct except the colour of the car which is Blue (not black as stated). It was dark and it is a dark blue, but I seem to remember hearing from somewhere (probably PH) that all the details have to be right or it's void?? Ticket says Black VW. My V5 says it's Blue!! Clutching at straws but is there any hope of avoidance?

Think I got caught by the scamera (cruise control set at 90mpm. Does anyone know if the rules in Scotland (re not signing the NIP etc) are different from England??

Cheers,

J.

Er was this a scamera van/car you swa, and roughly where abouts?

I hope they've not been investing in fixed cameras on my frequently used drag strip.

Scamera law will be the same as rest of UK I think.

Hi Red...sorry to say that it was definitely a Scamera van. Roughly (cos I can't remember exactly, it was on a bridge at the top of a hill just after I joined the A74(M) after travelling down the B road from Edinburgh. The one that passes through West Linton etc.

Worth trying to avoid the parking ticket, mate had similar situ with dark green car and black on the ticket. They also got his reg # slightly wrong as well tho, result - ticket rescinded. You've got nothing to lose however by contesting it and better to do that than capitulate to these crooks.

Hi Zorro - I appreciate your sentiments, but the thing I have to lose is that after 14 days, it becomes a £60 instead of a £30 one!! J.

Carlops - West Linton - Dolphinton - Biggar - Culter Mill - The A702 is the main trunk road to Edinburgh. Just amused me that it was referred to a 'B'. Dolphinton - Biggar is the best bit if no other traffic.

Prefer to know it was a scamera van as at least they ain't permenant. Now I know to be aware of them operating in this area (Never used to). Usually let the car off the leash after the traffic of the A702 (not even I get by em all)
