I'm living in Belgium and i'm looking for a good Grif.
Do you have all the bilds, service history, etc....?
Is all working (electrical equipment) ?
Are there some things to do, some replacement to expect??
What about the oil pressure?
The temp ? not any overwarming during a long trip?
Are the engine and gear box dry? Any oil loss??
Do you have some close pictures of the roof?
Went the clutch recently replaced?
What about tyres?
Before travelling i 'll like to know what will be your very last price.
Thank you for responding,
Regards,

Don't really understand what you mean by that cooper-man ?
Surely something is only worth what someone will pay for it ? If that's the case and someone is willing to pay £10K for a Griff of a certain age/mileage/condition, then that must be it's value.
I'm guessing that maybe you mean a car's component value, i.e. the sum value of it's material parts/components ? If so that could be said of virtually all cars.... is a £160K Aston in real terms actually worth £160K ? Then you have things like rarity and classic values which are difficult to put a figure on....

Sorry i didn't make it clear,i have been watching Griff prices for i while ,because i'm looking to buy my self.I have noticed Surely something is only worth what someone will pay for it ? If that's the case and someone is willing to pay £10K for a Griff of a certain age/mileage/condition, then that must be it's value.

Bottom line prices have been just under 10k.This is Irrespective of age and
condition, some of these cars haven't shifted .What i should have said is, some
of the Griffs i have looked at IMO where not worth that figure.
I have also looked at a few at the other end of the price band.To be
quite honest, there are some Optimistic sellers out there.

ETA: True a car is only worth what someone will pay for it.But some of
those that sold at 10k had been reduced to sell.

Often said - usually and often true.those that sold at 10k had been reduced to sell.

However...
(You knew that was coming didn't you?)
Mine was on the market for quite some time, even down to £9,500 at one point. Clearly it wasn't worth that to anyone currently looking, but it's worth way more than that to me. Just because no-one's looking for a tatty, green, high mileage, baby Griff doesn't mean it's value has depreciated. It just means my timing's wrong and/or I'm marketing it poorly.
TBH I'm quietly pleased it didn't sell, just had gearbox and diff refurbed and it's better than ever.
Hope you get yourself sorted soon.

''''Luck and all the right circumstances''''' , and the car is better than some 15k griffs i looked at
I have a pic of it in my profile and 'NOTHING ' has been done to it since i brought it home...BUT
Im having the seats re trimmed £650.00 The wheels fully refurbed £300 and a new set of AVO shocks and springs £260 so it will be mint and at just over 7k.
So you never know....................Keep hunting the right time will turn up.

To be fair mileage is unimportant,i don't mind getting my hands dirty. Its what
has been done to it.I did consider your's ,but didn't quite have the funds at the time (there's nothing worse than a Time waster eh?).It looks well sorted now.I'm glad you've decided to keep her,my Loss your Gain.Enjoy

No. As he said, only what someone is prepared to pay. But I wouldn't raise this one with her

Besides what ever figure you arrived at it'd be wrong.
I see what you mean cooper-man. To be honest, having just looked at the classifieds, I hadn't realised how mixed up the values are. I assumed values were going up a bit but in a uniform way, you know, newer cars worth more than older cars.
Maybe some people are just trying their luck... selling, but reluctantly so try a high value first. ?! I suppose it's also the case that many sellers don't really know what their cars are worth as there are relatively few cars to compare with.
Still... as 3024E says, keep looking and the right one will turn up.

I'D actually given up looking after 2 yrs, but in the mean time i had Merc SL 107 chrome bumper model turned up from a mate of a mate story!!!! had it for a 4 years then 'out of the blue' my mate rings me about the formentioned griff (now mine).......
Make sure you have the money almost instantly as well, and be patient i'm a great believer in 'theres a car out there with your arse print on it' and theres nothing worse than jumping in and buying something you regret later, if i have had to wait a few weeks to sell my merc to buy the griff im quite sure it wouldnt have happenend, i have done this many times now........If you can buy your next car before you sell your old one, so your getting the enjoyment from the current car going to and from shows/classic tours etc and can buy your next one at the drop of a hat, its paid dividens for me every time, losing only £250 on the merc i loved for 4 yrs.
HOW MANY TIMES HAVE YOU SAID '' ITS A BARGAIN IF I HAD THE MONEY I'D BUY IT '' WELL MAKE SURE YOU DO.
Patience is the answer.............Good luck mate
