An occasional misfire had now turned into an occasional fire. And unless I keep my foot on the gas, the revs die completely. ( which led to rather amusing high rev parking, slipping the clutch to drive slowly and park. The neighbours must love me) Cough, splutter, sleep.

I think I have only an intermittent spark off the coil ( which was new not so long ago!) and one of the leads seems to have virtually no spark.

Not fuel ( I don't think) as it seems fine at high speeds.

Dropped it off at the local grease monkey this morning, should I brace myself or could it just be a new set of leads and a coil?

Looking on the bright side, now the problem is this severe they should have no problem tracking it down! And the components you're looking at aren't particularly expensive.

Could be Dizzy cap scored, new leads, or coil, or possibly plugs. Hopefully not too bad to fix.
