Hi there, bit new to all of this, but have just managed to get out of a 997 Turbo, a lovely car but just too popular! And lossed a bucket load!

In a position to buy a late 6.0 diablo, but want a low milage one! Now is there anyone on here that knows of one thats for sale, or one that may be coming onto the market?

Well, budget? how long is a piece of string? Am in the position where I was looking at a new turbo, but loose too much money, just want something that is more memorable with each drive, and that will retain its value, I know they are rare beasts!

Here we go again!

To be honest I didn't think that was too daft a question. It's one of the first that I was asked.

I was in the same position last year, owned a new 997 RS which was the first car in the last 10 years to get me remotely excited but then I saw a Diablo 6 which I had always hankered after. Sold the Porsche straight away with absolutely no 'pangs' of regret and purchased in my mind the most stunning supercar ever built.

Your name suggests you like a bit of action around the ring area - Can't imagine many 6 litres have been around there!!!

Not sure what funds you have left re selling your turbo but you will require betwwen 90 and 100k for a special one (like mine !!!)

I would say between 15-30k miles is a sure bet that the car is good, these cars where finished in 02 so with low mileage this meens it hasnt been used much, these cars are better if used more. lots to go wrong if not used.

Lets look at the blue one for 79995, that has been sitting in a showroom for well over a year i think, this will meen at least 15k spending as it has been sitting to long, not just a service but all the sensors will probably faulty, shocks not used so seals dry, thats 1100 quid each, tyres are probably dry and splitting, thats 1500 quid, there is over a grands worth of sensors floating around the engine bay, carbon filters are 400 each. coils are 1200 plus vat. Get my drift!! ( I know all this because, yes Ive changed the lot)

Totally aggree - We all want that mileometer to be as near to zero as possible but in reality a car is a far propositition if it has been used every year. Exercise mileage as a minimum say 500-1000 p/a. Looking at my cars history and MOTs she has done 1500 miles p/a (summer months) and appart from very small niggles seems to have behaved. Once owned a 328 a few years ago with delivery mileage of 79 miles. Dared not use it for two reasons - value due to unique mileage and scared to death of what might go wrong!!

The deed is due to take place end of next week - Funny old world - when you have something that you really want to sell....nothing....not a dickie dido. But when you are honestly not sure your doing the right thing!! (Have been toying with the idea of selling for a few months) - suddenly have 3 people wanting it which only makes you even more not sure..if you know what I mean??

Alex,

The 6.0 is one of the most beautiful cars designed in my opinion. Cant help you with the mechanics, give Mike Pullen a call as he's checking cars I'm interested in. I imagine your budgeting between 80k and 100k and I think your right, you wont lose money on it. Just remember though, the 6.0 looks great in any colour and it doesnt need to be yellow or orange (there are variants of both those colours by the way). You may however be limited by the RHD market unless you are open to options. If so, then you have some extremely nice 6.0's available. Personally I find it hard to choose the nicest colour for a 6.0 as it graces them all very well but ultimately i would have to go for Rosso Vik or Gus's car, the bright blue one.

The dark blue one is worth enquiring about, maybe in the general public first i.e. forums as Amari may not even own or have the car. If you find the owner then great. Anyway, the dark blue is very very nice but just be wary of sellers
