Loved it..spent half the movie trying to work out what the monster was but really enjoyed it. The scene with the collapsed highrises tilted into the other was epic.

I found it mildly annoying to be honest, could of been so much better.

I watched it twice because the first time i felt let down, It was only after I spotted the thing falling in the water at the end while the couple are on the day out that it all made sense. There is a lot of details to lookout for and the whole thing is a kind of plot loop.

Now I really like it and think its worth having on DVD (my copy was £3 in tescos, I suspect someones kid had been sick on it or it was a return, either way it plays fine and doesnt smell)

So clearly destined to be the first of Cloverfield 2, 3, 4 etc.

So many unanswered questions and story leading threads. And the film ended at the point most movies would have got to in 20 minutes.

I thought the movie was good, had so much more potential though. I liked the camera work though, a nice touch.

I think it's an excellent film and can't wait for the sequel, which apparently will be from the military perspective. I really like the fact it's not a monster on a rampage or with a purpose - it's just stuck in a foreign environment and defending itself.

One thing that has bugged me though, right at the end when *spoiler* it reaches down to bit him in half - why would such a massive creature single out one person? It would be like us biting an ant

I liked it, there's a lot more story on the Internet than there was in the film though. The Japanese drinks company, the monster is a baby, the satellite (which is what you see crash into the sea. You would hardly know about those if you only watch the film with no other info.

You really managed to spot that without Youtube?! Even there it's like looking at a speck of dust. When I saw it I thought 'How anal would you have to be to actually spot that?'

Anyway, thought the film was 'ok'. I was hoping for more, but I wouldn't watch it with a headache and alcohol. frown

On my second viewing I saw it, it falls in the background while they are mincing about in the foreground. I thought it was the creature landing in the sea but a quick look at the internet has shown other ideas. and a bunch of other stuff.

New rant: why can we not just have a film, why do you have to have a load of internet shens as well ? Now i feel like i didnt get any of the film again.
