When did your kids loose their first tooth ?

Curious to know as to when your kids lost their first baby tooth ? My son, he'll be 5 at he end of May, was complaining of a sore tooth tonight. Checked and both his lower incisors a quite loose. Most web sites I've read say its normally from about 6 years old onwards. He did have his full set of baby teeth quite early.

Whats the experience of all the PH parents out there ?

Our eldest lost his first tooth a month or so ago - he's 5.

Some hang on to them longer.

My eldest lost his first few while in reception class, just as he turned 5. Second son has only lost first two and he's nearly 7. I think 6 is 'normal'.

Cheers for that. Its put my mind at rest. Whats the going rate for the Tooth Fairy these days ? Seem to remember it was sixpence when I started loosing mine

Our little guy lost his first tooth just before his fifth birthday. He then lost his second about 3 months later.

Both were through accidents though, unfortunately - one down to a lasergun fight between he & I that got a little carried away & turned into a full on bundle (I got into a bit of trouble for that one)

Except when we took her to the panto before Xmas and Sotty got her up on stage and told her the next tooth she lost would be a fiver...

Eldest daughter lost her first tooth on saturday and she turned five in september.
Her baby teeth came through early.
Spending tooth fairy money tomorrow.

Dentist here. The textbook normal range is five and a half to six and a half. But I've certainly seen completely normal kids losing teeth before five, and other completely normal kids not losing a single baby tooth before seven, so the range is very big.

As a bit of a guideline, if they got the baby teeth in early, they tend to be lost early. Grow in late, lose late.

There's no harm in getting your dentist to check them, but problems which would cause early tooth loss (ie not normal age related tooth loss) are vanisingly rare.

Our son's lost 2 bottom teeth and he is 6 and 3/4.

Top one's look pretty solid though!
