"The Iranians wanted to be able to strike a deal whereby they stopped killing our forces in Iraq in return for them being allowed to carry on with their nuclear programme: 'We stop killing you in Iraq, stop undermining the political process there, you allow us to carry on with our nuclear programme without let or hindrance.'"
Time for some PHers to come to God on this one. Iranians were behind all the insurgency after all in an attempt to continue their own nuclear ambitions. So all these murdered Iraqis - we can put them in the Killed By Iran column, and off the Killed By GWB then? Who'd a thought?

Right, wheres the great big "I told you so smiley"?

Bullst. Iran has sold weapons perhaps, as the U.S. and others have to the "good" side, but this sounds like propaganda to invade Iran. This is the beginning, mark my words.

It is hardly a secret that the Shia militias received heavy backing from Iran.

I don't think the Iranians are going to say, well, you want a reason to invade us, so how about we build nukes in exchange for not killing your soldiers in another country.. That'll help....
