I have owned this fantastic car for the past year of faultless driving. It has 55k miles on the clock & was owned by Jaguar for the first 5 years of it,s life, it is the Sir William Lyons centenary car, anthracite black, montreal alloys, brembo brakes, CATS, sat nav, phone, Alpine hi fi etc the list is endless. The car is truely stunning & the performance from the twin supercharged engine breathtaking.

Question is I am thinking of selling it & going for a new model XKR what kind of price do you think she is worth?? Valuations online are pretty vague.

IIRC There have been two on the Jaguar Approved used car site. Both carried a considerable premium over the standard XJR.

I'd consider selling it through the Jaguar Enthusiasts' Club or place an ad in Jaguar World magazine. It's a rare and highly desireable car. If it's in really good condition you're likley to get a great deal of interest.

I'd pay for a proper valuation - or maybe two or three before I decided what to ask.

Me, I'd keep it. It isn't worth that much, but later on when the new line of Jags is several years down the road, these old timers will be much more desirable/valuable.

Thanks Triple7 for your comment. I believe you have the most pragmatic thinking I was considering selling her if the price is right but to be honest I don,t much fancy the new XJ & the XKR is not an option as I need room for 4 adults. Think I will hang on to her as firstly she is a looker & by the gods can she move,,,,,,considering the Panorama exhaust system for some extra noise,,,,,may spend some money on her & keep her in tip top condition.

Thanks for the other comments also I am checking out pricing on the Jag Approved website see if their prices are fair !!

Cheers

I think in time you would regret selling it. Those XJ100 just look the biz to me.

G

PS buy the matching XK100 and have a fleet. There is one for sale in the classifieds for £15k. wink

argue The only problem was they only came with German coal mine interiors, rather than Jaguar Cream

That is what makes them more appealing especially with the red stitching.

+1,

Twin supercharged? I was under the impression it was "just" a pretty XJR with Brembos?

i think you'd be shocked how little you'd get for it, on one of the posts in general gassing there's an auction report and had one of the xjr100s and it went for either 5.5 or 6.5k

I have been looking for a 100 for a while and could be interested at a fair price to both of us. Beautiful cars.

XJR100's were mechanically the same as an XJR. I think the O/P should have put Superchanged - twin intercooled to be correct.

I reckon it’s not worth much more than any other XJR of that era. Like most things these days, keep it, or you will probably loose more than you anticipated.

Nice car by the way. wink
