Might sound like a stupid question, but to be honest, I have never really thought about it until today which is the first reasonably nice (yet cold) day we've had in a little while.

Im presuming the grass doesn't grow as fast during the winter months (hence why it isn't looking like a jungle at the moment), but was wondering if it would damage it, or worse, it would not grow back if it was to be cut at this time of year?

I think cold is Ok but wet is a no-no. Our lawn is like a bog at the moment so no chance anyway.

I think you're OK as long as it doesnt freeze within 24 hours as it can ' burn' the grass. Allegedly

Leave it alone would be my advice. There will be little or no growth and the grass will be conserving itself for the start of spring. Cut it 2/3 lengths the second week of spring.

I've mown mine today, though I've had the blades up high so it was just a tidy up.

Luckily my lawn is nice and dry, but I wouldn't reccommend doing it if it were wet or due a frost.

Seems most folk in the village have had the mowers out today, sun is out, it's warm and glorious

My lawn never gets mown at the start of the year until the bloke I pay to do it comes round. Which isn't yet, apparently.
