What rowing machine

Hi guys,

Well it's time to burn off that Xmas excess ... Looking to get a rowing machine for home .

I know that Concept II is the best, however don't really want to spend a grand on one when there is a danger I'll jack it in after a few weeks (don't tell the missus!)

Anyways anyone tried the Roger Black ones sold in Argos ? I there is there's one that doubles as a bike ...

Any ideas if it's worth getting or is there better out there ?

Concept 2 do factory refurb units. I paid £400 for a refurb C with PM2 about 3 1/2 years ago. It didn't get alot of use so sold it on eBay for £320 about a year later.

ETA: Just had a look at ebay and they seem to have appreciated, damn!

I'm a member of two! I work fairly long hours so would like to have a rowing machine at home... Was aiming to do 30 mins in the morning before work.

Once work calms down I'll head to the gym again.

I smell yet another Concept 2 shortly to be consigned as a clothes hanger.

Another option you may want to consider is a water-rower - they look far nicer, being made of real wood, and are very nice to use. Again off ebay.

I have a C2, but only because I wanted to able to monitor my times against when I used to row competitively. Had that not been the case I would have bought a water-rower.

Just a question to the OP, have you tried HIIT cardio for fat loss?

Incase you didn't know about it, it is such an effective way of losing fat and only takes 15-20 minutes a day.

If you already know about it, then disregard this post.

I want fitness as well as fat loss, I used to do 30 mins of rowing and 30 mins of cross trainer per day as well as weights a few years ago.

I find that the rower is an absolute killer. I'll check out HIIT

Those that know me will be shocked to hear I bought a Concept II a few years back - practically unused, on eBay for about £450 as I recall.

Those that know me will be unsuprised to hear I eventually donated it to my sister, still practically unused.

I agree with the Concept 2, in fact I may buy one instead of gym membership this year.
