one would think those 2 pertinent pieces of information were important to put into the advert ...I would myself wink

a moderate guess would be about 820Kg and 300bhp any less weight or more bhp would be a bonus for that spec and if it were worse than either of those Id be asking why

the only thing about the price, well youd have to really want an Exige to pay the premium - there are c couplf other other SC hondas for sale over on SELOC, one with even more trick bits and a MSC/Link up car, the other a Sinclaires conversion, both under warranty, both for £5K less

Pure Lotus sold that car within 1 week of advertising it. They keep the advert "going" as it directs folk to their website, & their current stocklist wink

IMHO people get totally hung up on headline bhp figures, which in reality are not important, unless you like "pub talk". It's easy to "get an extra 5bhp plus" just by tinkering with tyre pressures on a rolling road*, & unless you're racing, 5 to 10 bhp difference around the 300bhp mark, won't make any significance on track. Scuffers or Randy driving a 250bhp Elise/Exige are likely to pi$$ rings around us mere mortals on any track, even if we had 325bhp available. Having a car properly set up in the handling/braking depts, & driver skill, are far more relevent in the real world.

  • I appreciate that TDI don't use a rolling road as such, but unless every car is dyno'd there, what use are comparisons of max figures?
All in my opinion of course, hence I won't disclose what power/torque my car was measured at during mapping.

that being the case, it's may well not have been that one?

Only other Black one I know is Carsten's, and AFAIK, that's in his garage...

Simon

Pure Lotus are in Wetherby (N. Yorks), so they may well have sold it to a Midlands location. Con McL & AndyD, who both live within striking distance of Halesoen, also have black s/c Exiges although I would doubt if it were either them that was spotted by the OP.

I agree Pesky ...hence why I said "any more is a bonus" wink

it would just be nice to see the add say something like "made 305bhp at xxx rolling road" and weighs xxx kg as one persons version of "lightening" is different to another ....just so you could compare with similar ads and least know its in the ballpark for what it should be

looked like a nice car anyway and they obviously had no problems selling it.....

Whilst I appreciate the vagaries of rolling roads , do any of you knowledgeable chaps know how much (ish) BHP the top S/C hondas are pushing out ?

is this on stock internals ?

or could you point me in the right direction to find out please.

Also , who are the lead protagonists on the Audi conversion front ?

Cheers

www.dyno-plot.co.uk for many,many examples smile

SC Honda - very base spec on a rolling road "at the wheels" will be in the 250 range up ...whereas "at the flywheel" top spec 2.3L SC will be near 400bhp ...and everything in between smile

as alluded too - make sure to compare like with like spec wise, and "rolling road" wise - some measure at the wheels only, some at the hubs, some calculate flywheel power from either hubs/wheels etc etc ...most confusing if you dont know what you are looking at....

A friend of mine just had a very impressive result from his SC Exige with some new cams, Scuffers remapped it last week and the results look awesome.

As for the Audi conversion, the main protagonist is AFAIK Bernard Scouse. His company is called Auto-Teknix
