Anyone care to offer an opinion on the touch up paints on eliseparts or hangar111, I need to sort out some stone chips and was wondering if people have had good/bad experiences with these, how well do they match?

I got the eliseparts bottle. The colour match is good enough. All I use it for is blotting in the white fibre glass exposed from the chip. I didn't even bother putting the "clear coat" on.

If you want to repair the chip(s) so they are absolutely perfect then don't bother with these kits. The only way is a respray.

Thanks

Not looking for a perfect match (but just don't want it to look odd), just want to cover a few chips and will probably get a respray over the winter.

Out of interest, how much does a respray cost? Roughly speaking...

I got an eliseparts bottle of magnetic blue (which isn't magnetic by the way in case anyone was wondering). Matches fine and seems to be pretty good, don't think it came with a brush but thats fine. I didn't bother with the clearcoat (supplied) either because I'm very lazy.

bought my Ardent red from a guy of ebay and seems a prety good match (covered a big chip by filling over a few nights and not visible now) just needs a paint code.Doesn't come with a brush either, but thats why I have kids, they have loads of cheapy brushes I can nick.............

I found the recommended places to use an almost closed shop guide of 700-800 pounds for a front clam respray. 450 was the lowest I could get, but never as a firm price.

Got it done for 300 quid in the end, a rebel sprayer who works from a farm barn.....excellent job, too. Chap is so drowned in work he asked me not to advertise him!
