The BAL website says OK if you used their Fastflex product. Anyone have any long term experience of this.
Or am I better to go for a Ply layer over the Boards?
Cheers Chaps

A builder tried to take a shortcut in refitting one of our bathrooms. He screwed the floorboards down tight, sealed them. Then laid the Travertine Marble that cost a fecking fortune on top.
Within a week every slab had a crack in it.
I dismissed him, and the new builder did the other bathroom with chipboard on top of the floorboards and then slate tiles on top of that - no problem.

/\, i screwed every board and stuck the tiles down, that was 4 years ago and not one has moved or cracked.
ETA, ply on top of boards with tiles on top will add quite a bit of height.
You should try..Floorboard, 10mm sound insulation, 19mm chipboard then floor tiles. And the Feckin builders had not listened to instructions and measured the door openings down to the normal floorboards. Ever tried buying "reasonably priced" doors that you can cut 30+mm off without them falling apart?ETA, ply on top of boards with tiles on top will add quite a bit of height.
