Steamy windows...

The rear window in my chim has been attacked by condensation in the last couple of weeks. Are there special chemical cleaners or anything else that can stop this occuring?

I used to spit in my swimming goggles to stop them steaming up, but I don't reckon I've got enough to cover the window!

You could try the RainX Anti Fog solution that Hafwits sells. It is supposed to reduce misting inside cars.

Holts do a product called "anti mist" that works well on glass. Rumour has it that it is no different to a thin layer of washing up liquid so you could try that.

being a biker this is a classic visor problem, visit your local bike shop and but some bob heath spray, small white canister with red lid - works a treat !

I've tried RainX anti-fog - not a patch on their regular RainX in my opinion. Sadly a giant Fog City (another excellent biking product) is not possible for you car windscreen.

In wet weather, esp with 2 people on board breathing out warm moist air I find I often have to drop the windwows a smidge to allow some fresh air in to clear the rear screen, and sometimes the top edges of the windscreen. It's worse stuck in traffic of course - not on the open road when there is a lot more airflow.

This is often due to the surrounding mohair letting in damp. Try Thompson's waterseal stuff to stop the water soaking through.

Thanks all of you. Time for some roof waterproofing I reckon, though I will also buy a pot of anti-mist spray from my local bikers shop.

Should be able to reverse into my driveway again soon!

Yeah waterproof your hood and use anti-fog -

BUT best of all buy a couple of caravan Moisture Traps from Halfords for about £4 each and stick them on the floor behind your seats - pulls pints of moisture out of the air inside the car and keeps everything nice and dry - no condensation or musty smells, etc.
