I have CSL alloys on my E46 cab and picked up some vibration at 70 -80. Took them to get balanced and there's clear, though not massive, damage to the inside of two rims. They seem to have balanced up Ok, but is this common. Can't really remember hammering any potholes that badly.

The pot holes has "kerbed" one of mine.. I was just unlucky as the edge of the pot hole caught the side of the alloy as the wheel went over it.

Never heard that pot holes can cause damage to the inside of the alloy tho. What profile tyres are you running them on? maybe try slightly higher profile tyres?

Thanks funkdude - got them balanced out ok which was a relief. I think they're 40's.

40s are very high... are you sure?

Standard height for CSL tyre profiles should be 35 front and 30 back...

at 40s you might struggle on clearance or scrapping at full turning but you should have max protection from pot holes!
