Emerald low imp injectors
Discussion
Looking to upgrade to 870cc injectors and the only ones I can find are low resistance ones. I have just been reading on the emerald web site the to run low imp injectors you need to install a power resistor must be put in the eath line to the ECU.
Anyone know what size of reistor to use ?

Resistors are a bodge job. Although a resistor pack is used I think on some MR2'sAnyone know what size of reistor to use ?

The proper way to do it, would be with a driver box, like the one FJO make.
If 750cc would suffice, I have some that I used before I switched to 2 inj per cyl ( high impedance of course )
Aside from that, there are 1000cc high impedance injectors available from a few sources. But I'd say make sure you are running sequential before considering such large injectors, on a small engine.

if you still want to know the ohm-age, let me know and i will have a look on mine (not venturing into the garage unnecessarily though--Brrrr!
Emerald will drive eight injectors so you can use two banks of 4 rather than huge 870cc-1000cc which does help with mapping and low speed drivability (but who the hell wants low speed drivability in a drag Polo lol)

If you could have a look for me that would be great. I was thinking of going down the 8 injector set up but the new turbo has been a last minute decision and havent got the time to get the inlet manifold and fuel rail altered before the new seasonEmerald will drive eight injectors so you can use two banks of 4 rather than huge 870cc-1000cc which does help with mapping and low speed drivability (but who the hell wants low speed drivability in a drag Polo lol)
Also can you tell what injectors you use and how it drives etc.
Thanks

will venture in the garage tonight and check for you, no worries.
im running Skyline 444cc x 4 approx 280hp nissan 8v motor. its used in a sprint/hillclimber and was mapped by Dave W. to be fair the mapping was never 'polished' for below 3k rpm, but even with a pretty evil paddle clutch its fine in the paddock (as it should be with obly dinky 444s).
some mates are running 600cc ish injectors on 200sx 16v motors with the emerald and they are pussycat smooth. with larger injectors on the emerald, its just time and effort on the mapping really to make it road usable and nice to drive, not the horror stories that abound the web. may be different on N/A motors though.

With correct ecu control, even 1000cc should be easy enough to tune on say a 2.0, fired sequentially of course.
I wouldnt want to be going much larger than 600cc per cylinder if batch fire.
Doesnt matter if its n/a or forced. Usually n/a engines dont make any real power, so will be using small injectors anyway, which are very easy to tune for all operating conditions.
