My domain name

Hi guys, I've just got a letter off the postie, someone has offered me a grand for my domain name. It's just my surname.co.uk, nothing special. And my surname isn't Trump or Gates or Jobs

Do you think this could be some sort of scam ?

The letter assures me it's a genuine offer (well it would, wouldn't it ?), and there is a landline contact no., an email address and a proper address (in Salford).

I don't want to get my pants pulled down on this, either by getting scammed or even if it is genuine. What should I do folks ?

We make these kind of offers all the time. There is a significant lack of "good" .com domains now, and we and others will pay sensible money for them. Sensible meaning up to a couple of grand, not the "one hundred million dollars" [/doctorevil] that most jokers think they can get.

You do already the "johnsmith.co.uk" name already do you? I would have thought that you need to own that before anyone can buy it from you.
