Has anyone been to Jamie Oliver's restaurant in Bath? My Mrs is due to go there for a meal with some friends and does not know what to wear. Is it a posh place or is smart/casual the norm?
Is the food good?

Thanks

Haven't been in, but I've heard the theme is 'gourmet food for the masses', so I doubt you have to dress up.

Expect to queue as well as you can't book

Not sure google it.

On another note, are these places any good?

I kid you not, there has been a queue to get into the one in Kingston since it opened! I cannot believe it, they do not do advance bookings, and I am not going to stand in the rain waiting for something that could be st..

Friends of mine have been, I haven't yet. Not smart, food was good (but not great according to some), lack of ability to book a table (unless you're in a big group) can lead to long queues before being seated. The general consensus was that there are better places to eat in Bath and Jamie's is a bit overhyped.

Its ok I assume it's booked as she is going as part of a friend's hen doo, strange location I know.
Smart casual rather than a dress or similar then?

If its anything like the one in Kingston (which I am sure it is) then dress really is not an issue. To give you an idea of the image it has, its similar to GBK, or Pizza Express, its a far cry from one of Ramseys uber exclusive joints.

I went in with my wife for a quick/light lunch the other day expecting to be disappointed. I am pleased to say that it was really good. We each had starter sized dishes of pasta; mine a spicy sausage meat and my wife's a seafood pasta. They were really tasty and the glasses of house red and white were not bad either.

It certainly made me want to go back there for a full meal sometime.
