Just seen this pic on the Speed12 discussion, which appears to show the airboxes being linked.

Anyone know why this has been done? Any benefits? TCS?

I seem to remember that trackcar has tried this. Dont think it helped. Could be wrong though.

If you think about it they are already linked - all be it a bit further forward on the Cerb - where they are fed from a common plenum above the air filter.

It was one of the things we tried with cyclone1's car, it didnt add anything tangible to the hp but i think teh factory were using it for diferent reasons:
the race cerb had to run through restrictors, so to minimise their hp-limiting effects you need to make the flow through them as smooth as possible, and have very large plenums to draw on before the restriction becomes erm a restriction if you see what I mean. I think the factory were probably trying to coax as much airbox volume and air pulse smoothing as possible to minimise the effect of the restrictors .. ?

Bear in mind that's 12 cylinders under there not 8 , so the acoustic waves will be doing completely different things so chances are linking the boxes gave a benefit, most likely filling a tuning hole in the torque curve.
