Oulton on 27th Feb - anybody want a place?
Discussion
Due to engine problems I@m not sure I can make Oulton on Friday.... It's not 100% sure yet (will know more tomorrow) but if I have to pull out does anybody want to buy my slot !?
Have spoken to Easytrack and I know there are a couple on the reservations list but there's no guarantee they will want the spot, so I stand a better chance if I can find someone else myself!

Hi guys - will hopefully know by this afternoon, will call you if it's spare (there might be two)! Depends if the magic man can put my engine back together - yesterday was looking unlikely, but by about 6.00 he was more hopeful.
Keep an eye on here, and will contact you via mobile if the space(s) are available!

Oh cool we can trundle round together for a bit while they run in
What are you driving? I'll be in a Caterham and I've got an Iridium visor (and I'm a girl - not many of them driving Caterhams so I'm easy to spot!!)
I'll be in a red TVR Tasmin race car. Not only am I running in the engine which should have loads more power and torque than last season, I'll be running in a rebuilt gearbox too. The front brakes have been upgraded to 4 pot calipers, the clutch has been changed from cable to hydraulic, the suspension has been tweaked as well as a bunch of other stuff. None of this has been tested yet! It'll be like driving a different car so I will be taking it very easy in the morning. What are you driving? BTW Dreamer........What the hell is an Iridium visor? Oh and I am a great big fat bloke who eats pies
I'll easy to spot too
Oh we are so similar (well ok not the pie eating bloke bit
) - my car was rebuilt over the winter to new gearbox, clutch, diff (LSD --> open diff) as well as a bit more power, then firrst time out the pistons went pop. So Im' running in the engine, learning Oulton before a race in April (never been there before) and learning the car too !
Say hi if you see us - I think we're sharing a garage with another caterham person
An Iridium visor is one of those posh ones which are sort of orangey like this (exactly like this as this is me lol !):

We might be a bit late as picking the car up at 6.45, should be away by 7 and it's at least 90 minutes drive

WOW! Thats one tasty looking mota!!!!!!!
You will absolutely love Oulton. Its my favourite track. Some of the corners take a bit of getting used to. Just take it steady through druids to start with as its always greasy and the yump coming out of the 2nd apex catches a lot of people out. No run off to speak of there and the Armco is a little too close for comfort. Almost smashed my Tuscan to bits there last year, was very lucky not to hit anything.
Anyway, come over and say hello if you get a chance. I look forward to seeing your car on track.

IS it free to sign on as passenger tomorrow?? Looks like it is going to be a wet one. Is very wet here, and I am about 9 miles from Oulton Park.
Forecast reckons it'll dry up in the morning. Track will be a bit slippy AM but should be good by late morning / lunch time (Famous Last Words)Bumped into NTEL but not you
I had a crap day. Got home to find the memory card had f
ked up and also had to pucsh bike most of the way due to putting a animal bone in it ( I cycle 9 miles to get to oulton

In my book, a good Track or Race Day is one where nothing blows up and the bodywork stays in one piece...
Ergo, we had pretty good day
.It's always the same for me ,lots of people i mean to chat with , but always busy with driving and setting up the car... Before you know it , it's home time.
Maybe that's the definition of a great track day, either way its another feather in the cap for the Easytrack team - always well run events in my experience.
