Pound/Dollar rate - When to pay for a holiday?
Discussion
We're planning a rather long trip involving numerous hotels and a hire car etc. in the US in 2010. Many of the hotels we're looking at allow bookings way in advance and will happily take our money now.
However, given the pound/dollar rate is not really in our favour at the moment, what are people's thoughts on the future rates?
We'd be spending about £6k on hotels so a 25 cent move either way could make a noticable difference.
Shall we book now or wait? Will things tip more in our favour as we go through this year?

On one hand if you pay for it now, and can afford to, then the holiday will seem free when you get to it.... BUTHowever, given the pound/dollar rate is not really in our favour at the moment, what are people's thoughts on the future rates?

On the other what if the hotels etc go bust and you're left in the lurch?
