I can't get the website to work and I've not been keeping up, is this team running this year then? Who's driving?

Not this year, no drivers announced, no engine partner announced, no fuel supplier announced, no car built, not sponsors announced.

But Bernie is happy to receive all contributions to his pension plan.

God that website is slow, I hope their cars are faster. I can just imagine them sat in Starbucks with a laptop as their server......

Anyhow, to save you wasting your time, here's the front page...

USF1 News & Updates

02.24.09 Welcome to USF1.com - welcome to your behind-the-scenes access to the newest and most ground-breaking team on the F1 block.

Join us as USF1 evolves from being just a name and a burning ambition into the first made-in-America F1 car since Dan Gurney's Eagle first flew from Santa Ana, California; share the selection process as we search for the next American F1 World Champion; enjoy the best of US technology as we stream on line the design and build process of the USF1 team and chassis. And, above all, give us your thoughts and ideas as the team begins to grow: because USF1 is for all of you out there who love F1, who love the idea of proving that American racing technology is on par to compete at the highest levels of the sport globally. And it is for those of you who, like us, just have a yearning to pit one human being against another in exotic pieces of machinery.

We hope you enjoy this still-young story - and we hope you will be with us for many years to come.

's never going to work & what's more it's not designed to. In fact the only point of this is so that Max Mosely can say, come election time, "Look what my new ideas have brought to F1" in the well founded hope that 95% of the people empowered to vote for the post of FIA President haven't a clue WTF goes on in real F1.

Oh & I'd just like to formally announce the creation of my own F1 team, to be based in Dubai with the engineering done by a small company with a big mouth in Hungary. Despite this the team will be marketed as all British with Kate Moss as lead driver 'cos not only does she look good in her underwear but there's just a chance she might be related to Sir Stirling in some way. The team will be called F1UK & as part of my drive to, er, support Max Mosely's re-election programme, T-Shirts emblazoned with the slogon "F1UK Mosley" will be available fom all good outlets shortly.

i read from one of the 2 guys involved that (apparently) all formula 1 technology comes from america anyway, so they'll be ok.

From the Beeb, Scott Speed or Andretti Jr Jr Jr and possibly Danica Patrik, because "she generates a lot of press"... These are rumoured driver offerings btw...

I access the web here at work via a 26MB pipe smile

I waited for over 2 minutes for the site to load and nothing. For christ sake, if they can't even build a web site, how will they ever build a car...

Sorry American's, but your team have made you all a laughing stock and you have not even turned a wheel yet laugh
