anyone fitted silicon spark plug leads i.e. magantec type, and did they make any difference to the engine/performance

i am in need of some new ones and don't know wether to go the whole hog and buy some

I've got some on mine, but they were there when I bought it. I have not had a problem with them so seem to work fine.

I plan to get a set of Magnecor Leads from ACT. They don't improve performance, just are much more reliable than std ones as they age, which results in a better spark.

I use these on the V8S because they last longer (note: longer, not indefinitely). You'll only notice an improvement if your old ones are breaking down. Most likely improvement will be that it is easier to start in cold damp weather.

IIRC when changing over to these type you also need to change the extension thingy that fits on the plug as it has a suppresor in it.

You neen an un surpressed extension as these leads have built in suppresion

Would recommend the magnecor leads...don`t especially improve the performance any but they do look good & are well made!
