Further help required - sorry
I am at the stage of refitting the front tie bars on the 350i but....
1. The poly bushes that I have are marked CORT3 (I guess cortina 3)but the hole through the centre is considerably larger than the diameter of the tie bar. I cannot see how it would remain centered - or is this standard.
2. If I get new bushes where can I get them from and should I go for poly (the rest of the car is now poly)
3. What length should the tie bars be set? (The car came in bits ahhhhh)
4. Am I right in thinking the nuts should be tightened to bl#*dy tight and not to a specific torque.
Your help would be greatly appreciated again
Regards
Shaun

Hi
If they are the 'normal' poly set up there should be an inner stainless tube which is probably the diff. in dia. you have found, the tube length also controls the bush compression.
Yes nuts tight but not excessive.
The tie bar sets the castor angle so you really need a full geo set up but for starters set approx 50% along the thread and also measure the wheel base which will help give an acceptable initial setting.
New bush kits -
Poly from TVRCarparts or RT racing -
Stndard rubber from Classic Ford parts, some motor factors or a few helpfull Ford agents (there's not many)
