Hi

Wow, I have only just found this bit of PH's
Theres some spectacular stuff going on here particularly the swirly Porsche pictures

OK the title of this thread isnt far from the truth

What would you guys recommend for someone to look after their daily driver?

I have previously used Meguiars wax and shampoo but have just run out and would be happy to consider anything within reason

If whatever you suggest gives a nice finish for minimal effort so much the better

Im never going to show my car off and I will never have a day to spend finishing/detailing it

I appreciate that many of you here do this for a living
But what would you recommend for someone who doesnt?

Cheers

Dave

My current lazy combination that I'm quite happy with is a good going over with Autoglym Super Resin Polish to reduce swirls and then a coat of Collinite 476s wax. Both are cheap for detailing products and the Collinite is extremely durable so you'd only need to repeat this process once every 6 months or so.

Then just give it a regular shampoo wash every week or two and go to town with one of those quick detailing sprays if you've got some time to spare.

The basics are as follows.

Two buckets with grit guards.

Two mitts, one sheepskin.

Possibly something for the wheels ( a decent brush ).

Am a fan of Chemical Guys Citrus Wash and Gloss or Bilt Hamber Auto Balm re shampoos.

Get a decent drying towel, ie Sonus

Autoglym SRP is the WD40 of the detailing cupboard.

Collinite make soem top waxes for the money and last for ages.

Finally buy some decent microfibres and applicator pads.

All of the above for under £90.

You can decide upon wheel wax, additional cleaners for the underbody, interior trim etc as and when.

Thanks to the people on this thread!

I've been wanting to give my car a bit of a treat for a while, so have just ordered some Meguiars Clay Kit and Collinite 476s for my pride and joy!

Going to get some Microfibres locally and then i'm ready to go! Just add sun!

Cheers
