One of the conditions for me starting my new job is that I am settled with perm accomodation in London.

Having handed in my notice, been escorted off the premises and given 2 weeks pay and 2 months back dated commission, Ive finally found somewhere decent to live in London. However I cannot move in untill April 4th, and work do not want me to get temp accomodation just to start work, as they've had issues previously.

I've got my last pay packet from my previous employer, but this will go towards deposit, 1st months rent and living for the 1st month in London.

I now have 5 weeks where I have no job, no income, but alot of time on my hands! I will be moving back with the parents so as to not have to pay rent, but Im a great beliver that you can always find a way to generate income.

Im a recruitment consultant.

If you had 5 weeks spare and wanted to make money, what job/actions would you do as I'm after ideas?! (I dont really have any capital to invest)

Cheers folks smile

Shelf stacking at the local supermarket because you don't need a qualification or working behind a bar if you want to have a good laugh while earning a bit of cash. I'd recommend the second one.

Contract a fatal disease and then pimp every minute of your final days out to any newspaper or magazine that will pay you?

What can you do?

Go busking if you can play an instrument well enough not to embarass yourself and others.
Go labouring: if you can find a building site that needs anyone.
Find one of those commission only, telesales from home jobs and do it for a few weeks. You might make money.

Or you could invest the five weeks in yourself.

Do on-line training courses in the latest Microsoft Office software - make yourself more productive.

Learn some new skill.

Or you could invest in a sideline business.

Develop a training course YOU could give to people in something useful to do with recruitment consultancy. If it took you five weeks to write and practice giving you'd have a little something ready for the future.

What can you do?

Post up a profile on Adultwork. Make a private gallery containing nude pictures of yourself, which people have to pay you to see. Also trying webcamming for extra bucks.

You might end up 'performing for gay blokes. Would that put you off?

hehe
Haha im not shy in the least, its money at the end of the day, right?!

You have a couple of holes, sell them.

In seriousness though, sell all your old crap on eBay, you have time for a spring clearout now, I'd invest in myself instead too. Do a weekend course, learn to ride a motorbike, read some books or catch films you've missed over the years and that sort of thing.

I've been off work all this year and have done all this stuff so far smile

I'm in the same boat as you - got 6 weeks until a new job starts, and don't want to spend them smoking and playing Gran Turismo...

According to my 'better' half it's a waste of time!?!

Plus I'm not making any cash out of it.
