I suppose it was only a matter of time, would you not think the company/pilot acted in thier best interests...so maybe go after the birds.

Jesus H. Dump them back in the river along with the lawyers. What are they upset about? No trolly service on the wing whilst they were waiting?

An interesting law firm, but the success and achievements of these people (society type couples in NY) is quite sickening compared to some of us mere mortals.

fk it. Next time the pilot should just spear it into the oggin & make sure no-one survives.

The passengers are indebted to the skill of the pilot, not considering suiing for emotional distress <shakesheadindisbelief>

You just know that as soon as those people were off the boats that rescued them there would've been lawyers down there handing out business cards. They should be ashamed of themselves.

That's just ridiculous - On what grounds can they possibly sue - Perhaps because the airline foolishly allowed Geese to fly at a higher than normal altitude?

Get those that want to sue into an airborn courtroom and drop that back into the Hudson.

Let them sue but afterwards ban every single one of them from any plane anywhere

Then it can't be argued that the companys aren't doing their bit to keep idiots safe

I said this would happen as it unfolded on the news.

Claims for damaged luggage will be next

No I think it is quite fair to claim for damaged luggage, that is why you have insurance.

The $5k should cover that already, anything else is just greed and personally I find it disgraceful.

Humm, would it be possible to refuse to fly passengers if they sue? Or would this be seen as a infringment of their civil rights? I always thought this, if you make needless compensation claims, then do companies have the right to protect themselves from litigeous individuals?

Sad, but not surprising.

I wouldn't think it unreasonable if they could show the airline had been negligent with maintenance or something similar, if they'd died it just would've been their families suing instead. But for post-traumatic stress disorder...?! Sometimes I wonder why I'm trying to work for a living.

Times Article said:
The airline has sent the passengers a letter of apology, a $5,000 (£3,500) cheque to assist with “immediate needs”, reimbursement for their tickets and a promise to be upgraded to first class on flights until March 10.
That offer seems more than generous! Personally, I'd simply be happy to be alive.

You would have thought that after yesterdays crash in which all three pilots died + 6 others they would be happy to be alive.

I saw in the news that the Pilot of the Hudson crash had had his pay and benifits reduced.

They should be thanking their lucky stars they're alive, not sueing the airline that saved them......mad
