Parked cars get photographed for evidence

I was astonished to see a traffic warden, sorry 'parking attendant', in Colchester today taking pictures of parked cars today. I tackled him over it
and he said it was extra evidence, as the image files are date-stamped. I muttered something about police state and left him to it.
As I was waiting for an ink cartridge to be refilled at the time, I observed the tactic. As soon as the time limit expires, our crimefighting hero slaps
a ticket on the windscreen then takes photos of the car from all angles.
However, I'm not sure digital photos are acceptable as evidence because (1)they can be retouched, eg to change the reg no, and (2) the time and date are only set to whatever the operator sets them to.

The pics can be used because at the end of the process it goes to arbitration. The council will probably send a print of the pic to prove the car was parked where it was. For a laugh why don't you photograph one of them taking a photograph if you get the chance, from 2 angles of course. That'll spook em
As far as court stuff is concerned I think for some matters digital pics are used but I don't think they can be used in criminal trials

Indeed, neither parking nor speeding are *criminal* offences (much as the greenies would wish offenders to spend 20 years in the slammer) - but *civil* offences, where authority get away with doing effectively what they like because it's not worth anybody's time or money to fight a case.

The little hitlers in Reading have also been issued with digital cameras.

Yes I found this out last year in Carlisle when I tried to contest a parking ticket. I was told that the traffic warden had a digital camera to take pictures of the cars. This was I accused him of printing the ticket at a time when I was sitting in the car, then putting it on 15 minuites later, even though at the time I had a passeneger to confirm the time.
I asked to see the pictures and the girl at the desk said:
"Oh, that's strange. You don't seem to have any picutres on file."
Needless to say that I still had to pay a £75 fine after I was told that the council would not be submitting my case for adjudication. Apparently it's up to them, whether it goes for independent inquirary or not. I was also given 3 tickets by the same ewarden within 4 weeks. When I accused him of targeting my car (the mini) I was told to go away.
Later saw him down the road, so I parked put my permit on, and hid round the corner. Lo and behold warden walks straight up to my car, misses all others out, and gets his little machine out. So I bleep the alarm and and walk up behind him and say:
"Good thing I have a valid permit isn't it?"
"Ummmmm, yes." he replies
"So why were you going to use your machine." I reply pointing at ticket thingy.
He mumbles somthing about checking what time it was and quickly walks off. Needless to say I got another ticket a few weeks later. So after costing me £150 in parking tickets in 2 months I just paid for parking each time. At £7.50 for 24 hours it is cheaper than £25 per day.
Also used to keep a parking ticket bag to put on the car if I ever had to park in the street. Never failed
